Fabulous Valentine's Challenge -- Day 7

Valentine’s Day Challenge

Today's topic is -- Love Blogging

This is a pretty broad topic, which is great. I planned on dedicating this post to how my blog got her name, do you like that my blog has a gender? Instead, something came up on Saturday that inspired me to change my direction a bit. And don't worry, I will let you all know what is behind my blog name soon.

Saturday, at the blogger meet up, I noticed one very popular question among first conversation. What do you blog about? {Gasp} I didn't have an answer to this question. I didn't know I was suppose to blog about something!

There were girls who blogged about fashion, girls who blogged about photography and even a girl who blogged though the eyes of her blog. Pretty creative. When I first started my blog, I didn't think I'd really fit in. It seemed like the majority of blogs I read were about wedding planning or newlyweds, I fall under neither of those categories. I started blogging as an outlet and it is turning into a space to talk about where I've been and where I'm going. Or want to go.

I don't blog about fashion. My fashion consists of Roxy and shopping the surf shops along the boardwalk. Someday my fashion sense will mature. Not. Thats why I love living at the beach, so I can dress like I live at the beach 24/7/365 without people looking at me funny.

My photography skills are a work in progress.

My blog is a lifestyle blog. It will include a little bit of everything. I recently found a blog that I am in love with, the author is Erin and she resides over at Living In Yellow. Reading her blog has been such blog inspiration for me. I read her very first post a few days ago and she hit the nail on the head about my feelings & blogging.

Basically you don't have to have an exciting life to blog. Your blog doesn't necessarily have to be based on one or two things.

So, what do I blog about? Life. What I like. What I might not like. (I'll try to keep these posts to a minimum) Travel. Trips. Moving. (I move a lot) My amateur photography. Food. Fitness. Recipes. More food. Family. M. Everything.

I blog because there are no rules. I blog about whatever might pop into my busy little mind.

I also blog because there are no rules! I don't blog about any particular thing, just all the things going on in my world... Keep it up girl!

Oh my goodness girl. You are too sweet. Like seriously..this sounds pathetic but I got teary eyed when I read your little blurb that you wrote about me. I am so glad that you have gained inspiration and have built up more confidence in your blog because let me tell you what--it's fabulous :) Love ya!

PS. I may have shared this post on Facebook and Twitter ;)

I'm so glad you shared this. First, I LOVE Erin! I can relate to not fitting in and stressing about what I'm going to blog about because everyone else has their "thing" they blog about. Thanks for putting things into perspective and reminding me why I started my blog in the first place. :)

I just found your blog and I love it! Who cares what we blog about! If you love it, and you have readers that love you, then I think you're doing a pretty great job! I have also put my blog in the miscellaneous life category as well. Nothing wrong with that! :) I'm your newest follower!

when I first started I stressed about what I should blog about. I think its great that you don't have a specific theme, its better to just share your life with everyone!

I totally agree with you! I blog about whatever comes to mind that day. I'm not wedding planning, I'm not a newlywed, I'm not a new mom... I'm just me. I always enjoy reading your blog!

I know what you mean. Mine is a photog blog, but I like to mix things up from time to time and just throw other stuff in there. I've learned that people just like it when you are YOU. So keeping blogging, girl. Though I just met you on Sat, I am already loving following you.

p.s. I am the last person in the world to blog on fashion since I have none. :)
